EDUCATION

Many Ethiopians as well as foreign experts from both near and far have been aware of the problem-including the donor community, which has been contributing the largest portion of the country’s education sector costs. Some problems include

  • A low primary education completion rate is constraining enrollment at the secondary level;
  • Due to inequitable access for rural populations and girls are at a particular disadvantage; and
  • The learning achievement of students is disappointingly low
  • In general, the literacy status of the population of Ethiopia is still low. The total adult literacy rate (whose age is above 15 who can read and write) is 67% for male and 47% for female.

Hence, TDA will contribute to progress in education through supporting the education of vulnerable children.
